animals are the same everywhere! Lilly will crash on the tiles by our fireplace to cool down. I had another dog who would lay directly under the air vent so the cold air could hit her tummy.
Cute picture! Ah yes, we have reached the time of year where you have to watch where you step because cats and dogs have taken over any spot of hardwood floor in the house! Anywhere that's cool is fair game. :) Hope you're staying cool...
Hiya, Leigh! I know - long time no see. I am alive and almost well! LOL! I stopped by to say Hi and check in. This past year I've been dealing with "thyroid issues" which resulted in a removal of the blasted thing. I am now gearing up for weaving and other sorts of mischief. Turning 60 gives me leave to do things MY own way. WooHoo!!!! I love it! I was so sorry to read that you lost Katy. She was a beautiful creature - inside and out. She's probably keeping himself (Rascal) and herself (Miss Tortitude) company. I'll have to get a photo of L'il Rascal to you - he's no longer very "L'il"! Love and hugs from SW!
Love your blog! We raise sheep and chickens. Always wanted to get more into spinning -- own 3 spinning wheels -- just have don't seem to have enough hours in the day.
Benita, I feel the same way. 100 degrees is too much! We made it up to 106 on Sunday, but last night it rained and today was a cool 91, LOL
Kathy! So good to hear from you! I wondered why you haven't been blogging. Katy's death was the hardest, though I confess to grieving for Catzee for a full year. Would love to see L'il Rascal!
Janet, thank you! For the compliment and the comment. I couldn't agree more about there not being enough hours in the day.

nothing like a nap on cool tiles, when it gets too hot:) our dog is the same, though she already does it when it's just about 20 deg C!
LOL, well it IS a cats choice as to what he or she does with their time and all that mousing is hard work.
Now that's funny. We have rain and it's cool here for now. Still, an inside kind of day to stay dry. Have a good day!!
After a hard night's hunting, a cool, safe place to sleep is what a kitty needs. He looks like he feels very safe indeed!
Your forecast looks like ours. Thankfully it has been cooling off when the sun goes down.
Haha! That picture looks like a deathscene photo from 'CSI:Feline'. (and the heat can be a killer, for sure)
Cat are hilarious.
Unfortunately looks a bit like myself after a few too many frat parties in the 1970's at U of I

Fun photo. Cats really know how to keep cool!
Riley sure does have the right idea in this horrible heat wave.
I'm assuming you heard me laughing all the way from my place, Leigh.
Perfect!
My own wee beastie is hanging out the in the garage right now. Like Riley, I expect he'll come in this afternoon to cool off.
Thanks for the laugh!
Cute!!!
Can't help but wonder if the world wouldn't be a better place if we humans learned how to live more in the moment.
That picture brought a big grin to my face. Thanks for sharing!
What a sweet kitty! Our cattle dog, Molly, does this during the Texas summers (she eats ice cubes too!).
Here's to cooler days!
Bettina, they know, don't they!
Theresa, always in the comfort zone. :)
Jean, we just got rain too! I'm so happy about that. We still have forecasts for highs hovering around 100 though.
Nina, it's the perfect place for that. Plus, it's close to his food!
Woody, it's been a killer summer, hasn't it?
Norma, LOL. He was too funny not to take a photo of.
Donna, LOL!
Renee, in the summer, those tiles can't be beat. Winter though, they freeze my feet!
Amy, I think he's got the coolest spot in the house. :)
Icebear, it's as though Comfort is every cat's middle name. :)
Barb, he's one smart cat!
Tami, a garage floor, oh yes.
Nancy, thanks!
Mama Pea, so true! We could probably avoid a lot of wars that way. :)
Jaclyn, Riley loves ice cubes too! But he mostly just likes to scoot them around the floor. :)
LOL. That's cute. Here in Georgia the cats are also enjoying the a/c.
Oh Riley! You got it made! Very cute!
Nice cool tile floor - can't blame him in the least.
We made it over the 100 mark twice last week, and that's enough for me.

Mrs. Cravitz, too true!
