wow, you still have some of your own? god, all we have is a dripping wet, but still white(ish) garden, in deep winter sleep:(( though - I did manage to grow some cress - inside! it took ages to sprout and grows slowly - and it doesn't look quite as green as usual - but it tasted good and fresh:)) I doubt this will change for some weeks to come, but I am quite glad to be able to sprout stuff inside until we're able to buy fresh food again! enjoy your "toms":))

Sounds like you managed some good storage! Great! What a nice treat instead of the store bought winter toms that taste like cardboard.

wow! I wish I could get fresh tomatoes in winter! I think I'm going to try one of those indoor tomatoe plants...if I can get the humidity up.

How pretty! I just went out to the garage to check on some of ours and realized the door had been left open and they all froze. Too bad -- next year we'll be more careful.

Bettina, these are the last. They've been kitchen window sill ripened. I agree that seeds to sprout are a "must" to keep on hand.

Julie, I had a few more but a number of them went bad. These probably could have gone longer and ripened more, but I noticed they were beginning to shrivel, so we had them in a salad. They were sure tasty though!

Nina, it wasn't the best of storage but at least we had some. It's been a good lesson and is helping me to see what we need to do next year when we have more garden produce to keep.

Renee, an indoor tomato plant is an excellent idea! Maybe I should consider that for next year, since I won't have a greenhouse by then.

Cynthia, oh no! How disappointing. :( Sounds like you're learning about it just like me.
