Homestead Art: Ode To Lord B

I just had to share this with you. My husband is a very talented guy. Besides the amazing things he's done with our various house projects (among other things), he's an pyrographic artist. This is his latest ....

It's a poem, "Ode To Lord B," inspired by our Barred Holland rooster. It's woodburned on a 10 by 15 inch birch panel.

Hey, that's my rooster...I love it!

I can't believe how calm it is in a hen house with only one rooster, I've never had just one...ahhhhh!

Very talented man ya got there, Leigh. Is this print on parchment or fabric?

Debbie and Sarah, thanks!

Sharon, I know what you mean about only one rooster, LOL. Really makes a difference. We now have two new roosters somewhere in the neighborhood, so crowing wars are becoming quite common. :o

Tami, oh! I realized I didn't tell how it was done! I'm glad you said something. Actually it's woodburned onto a 10 by 15 inch birch panel.

That is so cool. We still have a copy of "Ode to Rascal" stuck on our fridge.

Risa, he's something. Actually the "B" is the first letter of his breed, Barred Holland. I call him Lord Barred Holland, Dan shortened it to Lord B. We're not very creative with our animal names around here. :)

Carolyn Renee & Mama Pea, thanks!

Susan, I'm not really sure. He's worked on it off and on over the past several months, so it's hard to remember how many straight hours it would have been. He probably could have done it all in an afternoon, start to finish.

Jane, Candace & Stephanie, thans!

MT&S, LOL. "Ode to Rascal" is probably the best one done so far.

It's beautiful!

Bettina, it looks pretty much like him too. The source of inspiration is only interested in things edible and would probably peck at "his" stripes if given the chance!

Barb, BRF, & Donna, thanks!
