Moxie walked by with her first chipmunk of 2019 the other day. But when I found a fat mouse in the bottom of a feed bin and tipped it out near Moxie, she wouldn't even look at it as it scampered into the undergrowth. Not sporting, apparently. I felt duly chastened ;)
RT, even so, we never seem to have a shortage of mice!
Ed, I don't think I could post anything terribly graphic, lol. It was a of fun to look through the series of pictures the other morning.
Quinn, every now and then I find a mouse in the feed can. I always run and get a cat, but have yet to have one go after the mouse. Something about "you can't make me look" always wins out. :)
Susan, the glowing eyes are lots of fun. We have some very alien looking cats!
Rain, fun for everybody but Meowy, lol.
Serenity, the only thing that actually scares Meowy is Katy - her feline arch enemy. At least she pretends to be afraid of her, although I suspect that's mostly for the humans' benevit. :)
Mark, we have one like that! Her speed is more like bugs.
What fun....have you ever watched the Simon's Cat Videos? They are on youtube and only a couple minutes...give or take a little bit. I immediately thought of this one. IF you have time and watch it, be sure and watch the mouse to the very end.
Good to know that ours aren't the only mouse missers! Mine might miss a beat or two, but they keep the populations in control. I just wish they were as great at catching these durn Chipmunks! They are by far more destructive than mice. Anyway, life on the ridge!
TB, never a dull moment with critters. The trail cam has only added to the fun. :)
Wyomingheart, keeping the mice down really helps keep the snakes away, but sometimes they just aren't interested! Several of ours catch chipmunks, and Meowy has caught a few squirrels. It's the bigger stuff like possums, and 'coons, and skunks that they don't pay attention to.

Great capture (on your part) afraid Meowy didn't do as well.
LOL, I thought it was going to go the other way! I guess cats can't win them all.
Jackie and Joel, fortunately for the mouse!
Chris, and she's usually my best mouser. But we have enough rodents around to know that even with four cats the mice are still winning. :)
Great series of pictures. No words needed. Mouse lives another day. But in the end - the cat will win.
That is so awesome! I thought the mouse would lose though. Probably just as well it won on a family blog!

Mouse must have seen the glow from those Meowy eyes! Cool pics!
That's great Leigh!!!
MEOWY!!! Yay!! haha one pic she looks scared :D
Love it. Our cat would run a mile if it saw a rodent.

Fun stuff😂
Promise not to report Meowy to the Board of Felines Mouse Hunting Department .
Perhaps she has gone vegetarian?

Goatldi, Meowy a vegetarian? Never! She's usually pretty good at rodent control, but this mouse has her number! lol
Rose, that was a good one! I'd forgotten all about Simon's cat videos. I hadn't seen that one and appreciate the reminder. :)
Very cool sequence!

What a great series of photos of their game of Cat & Mouse! A few of our dogs are pretty good ratters and love the challenge.
I hope Meowy catches her prey next time!
Best photo essay ever. Meowy was just looking for the other bigger more dangerous mouse...
Kelly, thanks! We could actually us a good ratter too, because some of ours seem to big for the cats. They don't mind the chipmunk-size ones though.
Fiona, ha! Mice can be pretty clever (for mice). As many as the cats catch, there's never a shortage. :)
