And The Winner Is........

First, I want to thank everyone who entered names in our Name That Goat contest. 58 people suggested 105 names and there some great ideas.

Since Dan handles the boys, I let him choose. I read the suggestions to him, and he made a list of the best possibilities. From there he narrowed it down to three, and because all three suited our little guy, we decided to go with a first, second, and third choice. This will give us a chance to try out the names to see which one fits in the long run.

This means I'll give away all three scarves! The first place winner will have first choice of the three colorways. Second place will choose from the remaining two. The third place winner will received the last scarf.

Now, the winners!

First choice name was Billy the Kid, submitted by Karen.
Second choice was Woody, submitted by Woody
Third choice was Bosco, submitted by Ashley.

Karen, I'll contact you first to make your pick of the scarves. Woody, you'll be able to choose from the remaining two. Ashley, the remaining scarf will be yours.

I appreciate everyone who entered. And our little nameless kid appreciates finally being able to have a name! Thank you one and all.

Congrats to all the winners. Those are lovely scarves every one of them. So Leigh, maybe this winter getting the dust off the loom and weaving again?

but will Billy the kid appreciate this name - when he is fully grown and 10 years old? or do you change his name to bosco later, when he is big and bold and a smelly old goat?:))

Great three names to present to your little guy! Hope one settles on him soon. Would hate to see any kind of an identity crises occur here. A great contest with great "prizes." Congrats to the three winners!

Michelle, it just seemed the right thing to do. :)

Nellie, I certainly hope so!

Tami, LOL. Not ever having watched Seinfeld, the reference eludes me. The last use of Bosco I remember is a chocolate syrup for milk!

Theresa, I have actually been thinking along those lines, can you believe it! Now that we've started on the kitchen and I have my color scheme, I'm thinking of kitchen weaving, starting with rag rugs.

Bettina, good question. Actually, here in The South, those kinds of names, "Billy," "Tommy," "Jimmy," "Bobby," stick long into adulthood. And of course "billy," is local terminology for a male goat. Interesting to think about, isn't it?

Mama Pea, I'm hoping he'll eventually learn his name. Surprise and Jasmine know theirs. Gruffy, not so much.

Beautiful scarves, lucky winners! Somehow I missed the offer and the chance to win, but the winning names are perfect for the little guy. And the scarves are stunning.

Congratulations to all three of you! But most of all to little no-name who will soon settle into one of those names.
