| This is where we left off last time. |
| And this is what it looks like at present. |
So, you can see two changes, the walls painted and a new closet floor.
The paint was leftover from another project and I wasn't sure I'd have enough, but I managed to get two coats on both walls and ceiling. It's a very pale yellow. After Dan re-installs the quarter-round trim in the corners, I'll use the last of the can for touch up. It could probably use a third coat but being a closet, it's doubtful anyone will pay much attention to the walls.
Next, Dan wanted to do something about the floor. The quickest, cheapest option was unfinished shiplap boards. They need trim, stain, and a poly finish.
Next, is closet doors.

Wow! Such a difference with two relatively simple upgrades.
TB, I know! Paint is amazing at changing perception.
Don't ya just love what paint can do?!
Paint is one of the cheapest most profound changes one can do to improve the feeling of a room.
Daisy, yes! It covers a multitude of visual flaws. :)
Ed, so true. Whether a fresher, cleaner look or a change of color, it's an excellent improvement.
Looks great 👍
Linda, it's definitely an improvement!
Looks great! Always wonderful to have more storage. Not sure why I'm logged into Google and it doesn't show my name still when I click on allow cookies on this page I guess it's not going through. Nancy at little Homestead in Boise
Hi Nancy! I suspect you're not the only one having trouble with this, based on some of the other comments I'm getting. It's one of the reasons I allow anonymous comments on my blog. That plus most spammers have google accounts anyway. I'm glad you caught it and could identify yourself! It's nice to personalize comment replies.
I'm really, really looking forward to having more storage space. Being able to access the top area of the closet will be wonderful. Plus, just being able to put away the stacks of totes now lining the bedroom walls will help too. :)
It's very inspiring to see the progress Leigh!
Thanks Rain!
