I don't think a person can have too much shelf space. I love built in shelving and have put it in every house I have lived in. About ten years ago though, I felt that all my CDs, DVDs and videos were occupying too much real estate and decided to remedy that. I bought binders that can hold a 100 CDs/DVDs per binder and have my entire collection in just five of them that would fit easily on just half of one shelf. Of course all the VHS had to be converted to DVD but that was easily done with a converter that plugs into the computer. I don't miss seeing all those things filling up shelves.

Ed, that's a big yes to lots of shelves. Good idea about the binders for the CDs and DVDs. Interesting about the converter too. I'll have to see if it's compatible with Linux.

I forgot about you being a linux user. I have a Honestech converter and I couldn't find anything on their site about Linux.
Ed, I did some research and found what I would need to do it with Linux. It will have to be a someday-in-the-future project though. I appreciate your mentioning it, because now I know it's possible.
