Almost a Spring Day Kid Play

We've had a lot of cold rain lately, but yesterday was finally mild, only overcast, and almost spring-like. Even though our winter pasture was pretty much frozen out this year, the does were still happy to get out to see what they could find. All their kids went out with them.

It's hard to believe how quickly they grow.

I'll have another update on Dan soon, to tell you what we've learned and what the doctors say.

  1. The one running left in the second to last photo has the most beautiful color and markings! So nice to see all the kids out playing in the grass.

  2. Michelle, yes, I very much like his color and the spots are a nice bonus!

Gorges, yesterday was the first day they were all out with their moms so we were entertained with kid races for quite awhile!

  3. I do enjoy your goat photos and posts. I miss ours, but I know the work they involve too. Enjoy those little ones. They always made me smile and laugh.

  4. I'm almost wishing I had a back porch overlooking your pasture so I could sit there and be entertained without having the work load associated with them.

  7. Our people kids used to get on their hands and knees out in the goat field and soon enough the goat kids were jumping on them and leaping off. So much fun to watch!

Glad Dan is coming along with his healing. Taking early Social Security was a wise step. It's your money, you guys earned it. Take it and run!

And my recipe for homemade toothpaste to save a few more pennies. 1 part sea salt, one part baking soda, a couple drops of peppermint essential oil.

  9. Kristina, thanks! If the day ever comes when I no longer have goats, I'll miss them too.

Ed, they are such great entertainment! Better than TV, :)

Goatldi, and all healthy! That's a blessing. Still learning that not every udder is available for that snack though. ;)

Carol, thank you! The baby goats are a bright spot in our lives right now. Your prayers are very much appreciated.

Donna, I need some young humans around to play with our goat kids. :) And thank you for the toothpaste recipe! Definitely sounds healthier and more economical than the stuff in the tube. :)

    Fiona, I agree!
