Celebration! Over 5000 Copies Sold!

I hope you don't mind this break from my regular blog posts, but this is exciting and I can't help but share it. 5 Acres & A Dream The Book has now sold over 5000 copies! When I hit the "publish" button on CreateSpace nearly two years ago, I was just hoping to sell the typical self-published book lifetime goal of 200 copies. As you can imagine, this has topped my wildest expectations.

I'd like to celebrate with a giveaway. And I want to give away not just one copy, but three!

To enter, just leave a comment. That's it. But! You can earn extra entries by giving this giveaway a shout-out on your own blog or favorite social media. Just give me a link to your shout-out and you'll get an extra entry for each one. Already have a copy? You can win one as a gift for family, friend, or to donate to your local public library. I'll give you three entries if you'll write a review on your blog or Amazon. Just give me the link in your comment and the entries are yours.

Anybody, anywhere, can join in. Multiple entries entitle winners to one copy only. Winners will be announced one week from today, Thursday, October 8, at around 6 a.m. Eastern Time. UPDATE: Click here to see the list of winners.

Until then I'm going to take a bit of a blog break. I'm trying to get book #2 out before Christmas. :)

  9. Oh, Leigh, you should be so proud! You put so much hard work into this successful book and are no doubt doing the same for book #2 so we'll all give you an excused absence from blogging for how ever long it takes. Just take care of yourself . . . and go for it! Hugs!

  16. When I found this site originally I was looking for help with planting; onions or something like that. I could have never imagined that I'd become an eager follower, and realize that self sustainability, having my own little homestead one day (though mine will include some horses because I can't help myself) Is really a dream I didn't know I had. Congratulations on the book and thank you for sharing your journey with the rest of us!

  47. Congratulations on 5000! I got one of those copies last year for Christmas. Appreciated the Bee information on your blog this Spring. I hope to have 4 or 5 Warre hives make it through the Winter. I am thinking in my neck of the woods that they have to be supered around the 21st of June as the nectar comes in faster than the colony can build down into the lower boxes. The Warre hive looks like a good Wintering hive though. I plan to make more hives this Winter.

  54. Congratulations! I am working on a manuscript (fiction) myself right now. Publishers tell me they love it but they "can't market it" so I'm going with createspace. I hope my book does so well as yours has. That's a fantastic sales record!

I shared your giveaway on my blog. http://piecefulslumber.blogspot.com/

  55. That's great news Leigh, I've never heard of createspace. Self publishing really opens up what's available for us to read, good and bad.

  67. I don't know why it put me as "Unknown". I am "Granny Grunt" on line & Sharon in person. I guess I just don't know how to work all this high-tech stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Oh, sure. Make me look even more stupid. First it puts me as "Unknown". Then when I comment on that, it list me the way it should have to begin with.

    ReplyDelete
  69. This is just fantastic! Congratulations!!! I am so happy on your behalf. And I am sure that you have a lot of happy readers, there is so enormously much to learn from you!
