I read a lot about how unpredictable this method is, but really, there's no guarantee even with mail order chicks. We lost 5 of 24 with the first batch we ordered. None of my hens lays very large eggs, except the Ameraucanas. They lay extra large and I love it!<br /><br />Carrie, you'll have your hands full!
